Passport Pals

PALA Best Practice Award Winner 2017

Passport Pals is a fun and interactive way to learn about different countries and cultures. The recommended age for this library program is 6 - 12 years old. This program is a great way to serve homeschooling families at your library.

The focus and goal of the program is to give children an opportunity to explore other countries and cultures by promoting a sense of inclusion.

Children receive their own “passport book” with "stamps", world map, bookmark, and fact sheet for each country they visit. Activities include crafts, games, and snacks from different countries.

I modeled this program off of "Little Passports" to fit specific needs for a library program. Little Passports has a lot of great resources.

Passport Book & Bookmarks

Passport Book

For best results, print the front cover on card stock and the inside pages on regular printer paper. If you are printing multiple books at one time, every other page should be card stock. Be sure to select "actual size" in the printing options. If you select "fit to page", the passport book pages might not display properly due to margin error.

Bookmarks

For best results, use print option "2 sided book" on card stock or similar heavy paper. Laminate the bookmarks before cutting them out. Use a paper punch at the top to add ribbon.

Stamps

Print stamps on sticker paper or library shipping labels and cut them out individually.
